As a one off experiment it was fun, but it got me thinking about social media and how we use it. No one wants to see 100 Instagrams of you cooking the same meal, and live tweeting doesn't give you as much scope for pictures. So Snapchat seems like the perfect way to do a funny cooking show. Especially since I am not about to stand in front of a camera and talk you through a recipe, sorry. Plus my friends liked it, or at least that's what they said.
I decided to make a King Cake for a Mardi Gras party I went to last week, and thought it would be fun to share it. But I knew the process would be complicated and that people might want to make it at a later date rather than follow along or finish it in the 24 hours that My Story Snaps last. So as I was going, I saved each snap, and thought about how to combine them into something more permanent. I dismissed the idea of a Facebook album, because I had a few videos to include. Instead, I made a movie.
It contains every snap from the process, even when I made mistakes. So follow along and learn from what I did right! Also, if you try it yourself make sure to snap me the result! It's hannahkanderson
